Reviews for Jardim Da Carreira
Review highlights
Based on 611 reviewsJardim Da Carreira is frequently praised for its charming and tranquil garden setting, offering a pleasant dining atmosphere away from the bustle. The restaurant is noted for its affordable pricing, particularly appreciated in the value of set menus that include multiple courses. Traditional dishes, such as the prego sandwich and beef espetada, receive positive remarks for their flavor and freshness. Service is generally considered friendly and attentive, though some reviewers mention that the staff’s advanced age occasionally reflects in a slower pace. While not every dish appeals to all tastes, the overall consensus highlights Jardim Da Carreira as a welcoming spot with solid, reasonably priced food and an inviting ambiance.
We got here after an unpleasant experience at the so called Ritz here in Madeira. This place is hilarious , blast from the past if you happen to have experienced the 1990 in an ex/comunist country. The food is acceptable given the low prices and the service is beyond reproach, even if most of them are past their second youth these people are charming and very helpful. Do go and visit. If you happen to want a restaurant , for yourself and want to invest please have a go this place could become the hottest place in town.
We had traditional prego sandwich and it was delicious! Stuff also very friendly! It has beautiful setting inside the garden, many different foods to choose at reasonable prices!
Special menu for 13.50 eur is totally worth it. We tasted several dishes and were happy with the quiet garden and lovely atmosphere.
You eat in a rather lovely garden at the back, which is hidden away. Food was delicious, price was 12 euros for 3 courses. Service was fine, just both the waiters were quite elderly and seemed weary, which made me feel bad.
A really good place to eat. We had a three-course menu and I only didn't like the soup (but this might be due to the fact I don't like onion and the tomato soup was full of it). The beef skewer (espetada) with chips was fantastic, fresh and juicy with lots of vegetable. The chocolate mousse looked and tasted great too.
This restaurant looks basic from outside, but once inside a beautiful garden setting awaits you. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious, well presented and all at a very reasonable price
We had a lovely evening here. The highlights were the garden, which is beautiful, and João our waiter who was so attentive and also funny and full of life. The food was straightforward, but tasty and nicely presented. The pineapple dessert I had was unusual, and really delicious. We would definitely come back here again, and I don't think the negative reviews are fair at all.
This isnt one of those fancy premium places. It is simple, authentic restaurant with wonderful service and tasty food. Perfect for those who are looking for real place where to eat.We are happy that this was our first place which we choosen after arrival in Madeira.Totally recommend, but keep in mind - if you want classic high level restaurant service, look for something else.We will return here.By the way 3 level meal costs only 11.90
